The Sustainable Society Index (SSI) shows at a glance the level of sustainability of 151 countries. To facilitate its use all results are expressed on a scale of 0 to 10. The index is based on the definition of the Brundtland Comission, and comprises only 22 indicators, grouped in 5 categories. The SSI was first published in 2006; the first of 2-yearly updates, the SSI-2008 is now available at www.sustainabilityindex.com
